Church last night was in Spanish so I didn't really understand a lot of what was going on but it was good to go and see a improverished people praising the God that created them. It was a wonderful expirence.
Last night, Robin was saying how she wished we could have one more day in our week to finish up the last minute preparations for camp before teams started coming and things got really crazy. So I... silly ol me... suggested that we just pray for more time-- which would me the teams would get delayed from flying in and wouldn't get her at 11 like they are suppose to. We all laughed but regardless prayed for a miracle of more time. I woke up this morning to Robin telling me that Travis and his team of 6 from Boston called at 4 am and said their plane had been delayed. We laughed at how God answered the prayer but now since Travis was suppose to preach at the deaf church this morning we are all running around trying to finish the last minute stuff before teams arrive and getting a sermon ready for church this morning.
I have been the one preparing that since it was my great idea to pray the teams would be delayed so yea! But I am laughing at how God must be smiling down on us. We have it all done. I'm reading the story of the Prodigal Son while Robin translates/acts it out for the people to understand, then we're going to do a skit on forgiveness and acceptance. It's going to be wonderful but please pray for it to go smoothly and for the Lord that is smiling down on us to speak through us. Church starts at 1:30.
Miguel, the boy staying with us. Found out he's not 8 but 11 he's just TINY! He only came to us with the clothes on his back and one extra shirt and underwear. So when we ran our errands yesterday and went to the mall we bought him shorts, two t-shirts, and underwear. He woke up this morning so excited and ready to take a bath and put on his new clothes. He's SO precious. He has been loving the nintendo 64. We have decided that all boys must be born with a gene that automatically helps them understand video games. He's really good for having never played and not having a T.V.
We're getting cars either tonight or tomorrow. ECK! However, Robin did say that we would be getting an automatic but we would probably start out with a standard. Pray that it will just be an automatic to start. I would already feel much more comfortable with that even though the driving will still be scary at least I won't have to be shifting to.
You guys are wonderful. Going to go and finish all the painting before we change to go to church.

down day...
Today was pretty much a lazy day. I'm posting early tonight because we are about to leave for church and I want to shower and finish painting something for camp and i only have an hour to do that. so i figured i would post now so incase some of that doesn't get done I will have updated you and then be able to do some more work tonight before bed.
We ran a lot of errands and picked up Robin's friends girls-- Sofia 8, Valentina 7, and Celeste 4. They are precious and all hearing. We have had fun playing with them and making crafts. I had 4 extra rainbows so I went ahead pulled those out for the girls to make and they did such a good job and had soo much fun!
We're about to head to church and then come back and finish very last minute stuff before the part of the teams start coming tomorrow.
Pray for all of their safety! Pray for Tenisha to have a good attitude. Pray for Robin, myself, and Sarah as we wrap up the last minute things.

Road Tripin'
Hello All!!
Sorry this update is getting to you so late. We have had a busy day here in Honduras. We have been all over the country. Ok Ok maybe not all of it but pretty much to the most northern city, Trujilio, that signs of love works in.
We have just gotten back from the local movie theater where we watched Indiania Jones-- not great... VERY cheesy... I personally don't recommend it... and yes for all of those wondering... the movie was in English with spanish subtitles. They show cartoon or kid movies in Spanish since most of the kids don't know how to read spanish.
So yeah, today started out with a big bowl of cereal and ended with Nachos but you don't care about that do you?
We started about by going to this litte deaf girls house here in La Ceiba. We actually had to hike up the mountain to get to her "house", it's more of just 4 junk wood walls... very much a shack. But we wanted to invite her to camp. Please pray that she will be able to come.
We then went to another family here in Ceiba that Robin had heard about. A doctor called Robin and said that one of his paticents had a deaf child and he didn't know what to do with him but had been refered to her. When we got there we were greeted by the child, Mike Williams, Grandfather, Grandmother, 3 aunts, mother, 3 cousins all boys. Anyway so Robin visited with the family a little bit and then picked up Mike-- he's three years old and super cute... oh my gosh you can not believe how much I wanted to bring him home with me. Robin tested his hearing by sitting him on her lap and clapping behind him. It was very obvious that he was deaf because there was no reaction whatsoever to the clapping, or name calling. The grandfather was very concerned that because he was deaf he was also mentally retarded, which he is not, you can defintly tell that. You could tell from the time we sat down with the family to the time we left, the mother's and whole family's attitude had changed. Please be in prayer for this family to accept this beautiful deaf child. Also, Pray that he and his mother will be able to attend camp.
Next we went into another villiage to visit a 15 year old boy Enrique and his family. Enrique and his mom are the ones featured on the promotional dvd. She is a very proud woman and the developement and work SofL is doing in his life is very evident. He cut down a coconut and let me drink the water out of it he was SO shocked that I had never tasted it before. ha! Then his nephews picked some other thing that I ate it was pretty good too. Then as accustomed to Honduras culture, especially the very poor, feed a meal to the visitors. So we drank Pepsi, ate beans, rice, spagetti, and plantine thing. All of which is a starch but it was all very delicious! And, they were ALL touching-- mom-- please tell dad I am over coming the fear of everything touching. =0)
We then continued our road trip to the next stop which lead us to a wonderful 8 year old boy named Miguel. He lives down one of the long dirt roads in a tiny shack in the middle of NO WHERE!!! We picked him up and brought him back to the mission house to stay with us until next tuesday so he'll have a good 11 days emersion into Lesho. He was SO excited he skipped down the road to the truck. Just three years ago Miguel's mother asked Robin if she would take him because she had so many other hearing children... she didn't need him too. But today the mother was signing to him as well as his father. The growth and change in this family has changed. Pray for Miguel while he stays with us at the mission house. Pray for his language to develope. Pray for peace of mind and spirit in such a strange new place.
That just about concludes the day. I will try and upload pictures soon its just way to late tonight and that lovely rooster crow will come in just a few short hours. However, I am learning to go back to sleep. So maybe there will be no need for chicken and dumblings mom! ;)
I did hear today that after camp we (Robin, Sarah, Myself, Joy- a girl coming Monday and staying the rest of June) will be going to the island of Roatan to get away for some rest and relaxation. Sarah and I will be snorkling while Robin and Joy scubadive. I'm pretty excited about that.
Pray for Tenisha while Miguel is here. She tends to have a jealous streak and we want her to be loving and patient with him so that she can help him develope more language skills. Pray also for the termites. It is about to be that season here in La Ceiba- Robin says it only last 1-2 days but apparently it is DISCUSTING!! They swarm you trying to get in your ears, nose, mouth, etc. etc. etc. and they lose their wings within 24 hours and then they just crawl around and there are gross wings all over the ground. Doesn't sound pleasant huh? Just pray that those will stay away while our teams are here or will come in the next day or two and be gone.
Oh and thanks for the prayers for Rain... they have been answered but I'm sure they can keep on coming. I appreicate you all! All of your thoughts and prayers are a blessing. May the Lord bless you today!

Roosters and Rain
Today was easy and laid back... enjoy all of the post while you can they may become sparse starting next monday when we have all of the teams here. Sarah-- Robin´s 18 year old cousin road with me from Houston to here-- she´s down in the kitchen baking peanut butter cookies... YUMMY!!!
I was woken up at well I´m not sure what time before 6... I know that´s for sure. By a darn ROOSTER!!! Man God has a wonderful alarm clock system here. But I did actually get back to sleep until 7ish.
It rained too... Praise Jesus! Everyone was really excited about that!! It was much needed but another picky request... it really needs to stop for visitors to come Sunday and Monday for their planes to fly from San Pedro Sula to La Ceiba. After that I think it´ll be ok for it to rain until that weekend when we have camp... I know I know I´m being picky but you know... God´ll answer all the prayers.
Well I better Get... Mom, I´m going to try and call you right quick. Jackie-- I delieved your message to Jackie and she says Thank You! She misses you! Loves you!

It´s Official
First off, I am here and safe. Secondly, I apologize ahead of time for any typing errors as this computer and keyboard are in spanish.
Things have been good. Not too too much to report. Tenisha is wonderful-- just as CUTE as ever!! Drove around and man oh man that is just going to be PLANE crazy... I don´t know what I was getting myself into when I said I would drive but God will provide, he already his. A man from Baylor will be here with his family and some students off and on the entire month of July so that´ll be a really good connnection to have.
A normalish day tomorrow getting stuff done and ready for camp next weekend and getting ready for all of the teams to come.
8 will come on Sunday
20 will come on Monday
Be in prayer for all of their travel safety and our preparation for them. Pray for rain-- they need it BAD here!
Jackie--- Tenisha has asked about you SO much! When she saw the picture I brought of us she kissed and kissed it. She ask about you by using your sign name and then signing blister up and down her arm... too funny! So basically she says HI and she misses and loves you!
I guess that´s all I better be going. I need to shower so I can sweat... ha! Just kidding! But it is just about bed time here.

I will be leaving in well almost just a day! I really have no time for a really long post due to the fact that I am leaving in a day and just got home Saturday night from a wedding, had a special vistor all day Sunday, a wonderful family visit on Monday, and well it's almost Tuesday and then I'm flying out Wednesday... ECK!! Busy Busy!!
I did want to post the address I will be staying at incase anyone wanted to send letters. Please do NOT feel obligated to do so... Don't get me wrong I would love to get letters from home but its cool if nothing comes... your faithfulness to praying and reading this will work just fine.

Big Surprises!!!!!
15 days!!! ECK! The time has flown... May is half over... and I'm just about two weeks from leaving... God is proving to me that I am not in control of any plans I have made for this trip or any preparations either.... BIG SURPRISE! HA!
I have always been the type of person that has things planned out to a "T". For instance I had the whole entire month of May all planned out way back in well April... probably could have done it at the end of March. But for the sake of this blog we'll just go back to the beginning of April. I knew what I would be doing from day to day in May right up until I left. Well, there ended up being minor set backs with my wisdom teeth and the pain medicine and I have basically lost a "whole" week of doing nothing but playing games and sleeping. That was NOT the plan. Now things are all thrown out of wack!
I am constantly being reminded that I can plan but God is just going to mess them up-- in a good way! That he has and it is wonderful. I am trusting him and HIS plan knowing that it will be so much better than I could have ever imagined. I cannot wait to see what all is going to happen in the next 15 days of planning and preparation but somehow I know there is going to be a BIG SURPRISE that I couldn't have even planned.
You are all so wonderful and I look forward to being in Honduras giving you updates. May you be blessed from above.
